Great book, great resource.

I had owned a previous edition of this book (the 2nd edition) and found this edition to be greatly improved on an already great book.
I appreciate the detail the book gives and as I stated is a great resource.
This book is not for the average "lay" person but for the medical professional, it works extremely well and again, does a great job with the detail. I've worked in the ICU for 24 yrs now and this is by far the best ICU resource out there.

Great reference book

Please keep in mind that I am a newer grad and have been working in the ICU for just over 9 months. This is a really great book with A LOT of wonderful information. It goes in depth and with that being said some chapters take me longer to read and really understand (having to look up word and processes I forgot or are unfamiliar with) than others. Most of the time it has adequate information in whatever I want to look up, last time it was hypothermia after cardiac arrest. Also, I have seen a couple resident docs carry around this book as well and other nurses have said it's a great book too. The couple chapters I have read have already taught me a whole hell of a lot.

A book to read in your copious free time.

The e-book also works on Android now! The Android Inkling app is pretty spiffy, makes the book easy to navigate!
This book has been an old friend and a light in a dark, scary, and often confusing place. Glad to have my own copy now! It works best when you read it and not just sit it on the shelf. This is actually the sort of book that is enjoyable to read, despite it being about a topic that intimidates.
