This is an 80-page manifesto that describes how to make money beautifully and why it is so important to do so.

"The aim of this book is to radically reframe your experience and relationship to money by reprogramming what you've been taught about passion & profit." - Tara Gentile

The book is not a "how-to" or step-by-step guide to making money. Instead, The Art of Earning addresses common beliefs we hold about earning and money in general.

Although the focus of the book is creative business owners (artists and artisans), the principles discussed are vital for anyone looking to transition their business effectively and live profitably in the "New Economy."

This New Economy is the expression of a transition from the Information Age to an age where products of "depth and meaning" are highly-sought and valued.

I loved this book because it was a real life-changer for me. It delivered it's promise to "reframe" and challenge my beliefs about money, business and earning.

I also appreciated Tara's ability to connect the art of creating in the world and the result-earning-as the natural flow of creative energy. Although her book is focused on earning, it is not a treatise on consumerism. In fact, she states quite the opposite.

The thing I most like about Tara's work is that it seems a balanced view of capitalist pursuit. Often we have a negative view of out-of-control money-making. Let me emphasis again that this is not a "how-to" guide. But if you are looking for a guide that will make you think, challenge your beliefs, and give you the raw materials to re-frame your creative business endeavors, this is your book!

This book addresses our relationship with money in ways that most books do not. If you're looking for a cut-throat guide to "making it", this book will disappoint you, but if you're trying to figure out what "making it" really means, you've hit a gold mine.

The Art of Earning is a more organic approach to building a healthy relationship with money. Ms. Gentile shares a lot of herself and her journey in this book. She also gives us a much-needed reminder that money is only a tool to be used in our lives, and that we have choices when it comes to defining what we really want, what we are willing to sacrifice to get it, and what it all means in the end.

My brain will be chewing on these ideas for a long time.

Overpriced and condescending

This is a fairly good book with some useful information. However the tone of it is largely condescending. I especially disliked the parts where the author felt it was necessary to tell the readers to be professional and what it entails in her opinion. I also did not appreciate the revision questions at the end of each chapter - they seemed more like a way to fill pages.
It is not great value for money either. There are several books & blogs that deliver more detailed and pertinent information than this for less (C. McKay for one).

Lots of information. For the beginner my advice would be to digest it slowly. It did not answer all my questions, but I guess that's what the certification course is for.

This textbook, has provided me, information that I need to launch my Freelance Translation business. The Translator Training Textbook takes you step by step on the practices, when, and how (resources), to become a Certified Professional Translator. I have gained more confidence, with the current knowledge I have, and how to use the experiences I have, for my future business by hearing (on line), and reading of the Expert Interviews provided in the Textbook.

By learning of the how to received an additional certification to my portfolio, it has given me, an additional push to go ahead with my freelance translation dream. I am registering today for the on line course to gain the certification in a few months.

I would recommend this product to any, young or old, that have dreams, such as mine (Freelance Medical Translator), to add an additional certification to their name, as a Certified Translator. Other books had provided information on the how, but not as detail and easy to follow as this textbook. I would used this textbook as guide, and reference when needed, and on my on line course.

Separate Your Store From All The Others Out There

There are many bloggers on the internet, and many eCommerce businesses-- so, how does one distinguish oneself to the point of making it all profitable for You? This book is packed efficiently with a plethora of essential chapters covering every aspect of blogging for your online store, and with links throughout to online resources (the author's even provide a list of links they used to sites, if you are reading a hard copy).

I had a thousand questions when I sought out this book and then first cracked the cover. It seems the movement of traffic to a site should be easy: of course, it is not. Everything is right there if you simply have internet access and a device of some sort to actually access it! But this is far from the truth. Yet, as we are shown herein, this is Not 'a mountain too high.'

This book breaks it all down into 8 manageable chapters. Beginning simply, we get to cover content, traffic, building an audience & more ... the Basics of Blogging for Beginners, as it were, but essential and the ideal place to get our feet wet. Next we go over actual tactics for our strategy: what are listicles, including 'How To's' and interviews, and more.

Further, Keywords are vital for people (potential customers) searching online: lure them in. The authors take us through using certain features on Google, in particular-- and given the ubiquitousness of Google it is crucial to learn how to use it. But also phrases & tools and much in between to make the most with the right bait.

Great Read!!!

I definitely recommend this book if you are just starting out. I have a small ecommerce site and we sell holistic dog treats. I know I was supposed to be blogging but couldn't get motivated. Wasn't sure blogging would work either. The book does a good job of going through step by step how to do it and also gave me a lot of ideas to write about.

I'm not much of a writer but at least know where to start now. Some of it is a little over my head but I can start with the basics and then may go back to do the heavy duty stuff. Would recommend if you are new to blogging.

Extremely useful

Practically every recipe I've tried from this book has been delicious. I especially like the supplementary information on how to make tofu and growing bean sprouts, which I've not seen covered in other Asian cookbooks. My only criticism is that there is no alphabetical index; it makes it a little hard to look up specific recipes.

Just like grandma and mom use to make

My grandmother and mother has passed away, so I've searched high and low for authentic Chinese recipes. Granted the recipes may be salty (you can reduce the salt), but many are truly authentic. Just one look at the meat marinades and batter and I knew the dishes were going to taste wonderful. And, they were.

A couple of Martin Yan's cookbooks appear to cater to Americanized tastes or more modern tastes due to the larger audience to cater to. That wasn't what I was looking for because there are too many Chinese cookbooks out there already that covers this area. This one is authentic and I haven't found these wonderful flavors in any other cookbook so far.

As it's one of the older Yan books, I found it enjoyable not to have to wade through a glossy "picture book" cook book so popular today that seem to leave the recipes in as an afterthought.

ILIA DELIO, O.S.F., is a Franciscan sister. She is associate professor of ecclesiastical history, director of Franciscan Studies and academic coordinator of spirituality studies at the Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C. The goal of Delio, a theologian, in writing this book is to define more clearly the role of Franciscan prayer in making Jesus Christ alive in the believer. To accomplish this aim, she relies on three major voices from the Franciscan tradition: Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi, and Bonaventure of Bagnoregio.

The book addresses specifics such as Clare's fourfold path to prayer (gazing, considering, contemplating, and imitating), and the Franciscan practices of poverty, friendship with Christ, and unceasing prayer as a way to live more deeply in Christ. These topics are fleshed out with background on the cultural climate leading to and encompassing the time of Francis, Clare, and Bonaventure and also details of their lives and teachings.

The entirety of the book is informative and inspiring, but its greatest richness lies in the author's gift for expressing spiritual concepts; example, "We pray not to acquire a relationship with God as if acquiring something that did not previously exist. Clinical cases in PT

I am highly recommending this book to all students of Physiotherapy and practicing Physiotherapists who would want to learn and improve the critical skill of clinical decision making.

This book offers case scenarios (real-life) with explanations and intervention. Some cases has a relative review of anatomy and some special test that will definitely help any physiotherapist enhance their own field of expertise.

It covers cases in Musculoskeletal, Cardio-Respiratory, Neuro and some Pedia cases. In addition, it also includes some hints and tips to be a competent practicing student or clinician which is valuable in clinical placements. It gives you the value of professionalism and competency.

It is a good reference to practice client centered approach based on the standards of physical therapy practice. This book is a "MUST HAVE" especially to those aiming for high marks in their clinical placement and good marks at OSCE Board exam.

A must for any undergraduate physical therapist.

This book is simply amazing. Its practicality makes you think and indirectly guides you to the necessary information a physiotherapist needs, eliminating all the unnecessary detailed concepts one tends to fall into. This book teaches a person how to think simple and not look for the most complicated of answers. It is a must for all undergraduates who are nearing their finals.
