As he looked around the very large room, he saw a couple of bare mattresses lying on the floor along with an assortment of blankets. There was what looked to be a propane camping stove and some things that looked like a couple of eating utensils and plates. There were boxes and other things that he was unable to identify.
“Look,” she said, her voice hard but husky, trying with difficulty to show bravado, “let me get him settled and then I’ll settle up with you.”
She took the boy by the hand again and led him over to one of the mattresses. As Graeme watched, she put his crackers and deviled ham on a plate and spoke softly to him. But her face was cold and hard again when she turned around and walked back over to him.
“Okay, follow me.”
Graeme did follow her but not for the reasons she thought. When they were out of sight of the boy, she turned to face him with a determined look on her face.
She also looked very pale. And this time, she was not looking at him.
With trembling hands, she reached for the waist of his jeans.
Graeme just couldn’t let that go on. His hands reached and gripped her wrist, stopping her from touching him.
She jumped and wide eyes flew to his face.
He lived as an angel for what constituted like eternity to humans like this woman, and that should be enough for him to feel validated about where his conscience stood.
But as she looked at him like that, he felt like he was really a very bad person....

Outstanding Characters and Storyline!

“As he watched them, he found himself getting angrier all the time. How does something like this happen, he wondered. He knew that humanity was given everything it needed to survive. But this happened because some people let it happen. There wasn’t enough love practiced to come around.”
Handsome Graeme St. Paul was an angel, but now is earthbound. He and his group of friends are determined to do what is right and good to change the humans of earth. Each one of the group seems to have a super power and Graeme is no exception. As a private investigator “finding missing people was what he did best. It was his special calling and he never failed to find the missing person he’s meant to locate.” This time he is hired by Jefferson Graves of Graves Enterprises. Their father has passed away and finding out in his will there is a sister they didn’t know about, he hires Graeme to find her. What he finds rips his heart ,out and he knows he must do all he can to help Kiara and her brother Ronan. All the while Graeme wonders if he is falling in love with her.
This story is truly amazing the ultimate page-turner as you can’t help but get caught up in the storyline. My heart broke at Kiara and Ronan’s story, and after finding out why Ronan doesn’t talk, I want Graeme to solve the mystery of their mother’s murder and turn their lives around. The possible hint of romance is played cautiously well that neither one is sure what is happening. Overall a great read. The characters are outstanding, there's an exceptional storyline, and it's a wonderful novel to pass the time.

A fantastic first book!

This was such a nice read. In all honesty, I thought those two girls in the prequel will be included here. Who knows they're just an instrument for Graeme St. Paul to figure out what he wants to do while he's here in our world? His new world? Enter Graeme St. Paul, now a charming private investigator who I'll let investigate me (I'm joking oh my god hahaha he's just my kind of guy – er um, earthbound angel).
Anyways, so he was hired to find the half-sister of this rich woman, yeah? He thought it was just another 'find-the-missing-person-and-bring-her-back-to-get-paid' thing that's the main highlight of his job. Little did he know, he'll met a girl named Kiara, a feisty strong woman who won't take crap from anyone. But beneath her strong bravado, she's beautiful and protective of her brother Ronan. Soon, Graeme felt something for this girl, something he hasn't expect to feel for a lifetime of being an angel. Is it pity, a sense of camaraderie, or love? I don't actually care! This book is so intense that it will make you feel like you're in some kind of trance – a love trance. Her writing technique is polish, and the plot seems to move forward to the right direction even if it's still the first book. So, all in all, this is a good book recommended for people who wants to have a taste in heaven – in our world.

Intriguing story of angels and mortals

Graeme St. Paul is a very wealthy, single man who specializes in locating missing people. When he is approached by Jefferson Graves with a missing persons case, Graeme agrees to look into it. Kiara Shannon is the daughter of the man who owned Graves Enterprises. The owner has deceased, and now the three sons of this man are running the company.
Since there is an estate to be divided amongst the remaining children of Mr. Graves, Jefferson is interested in locating Kiara so that she can have her fair share of the estate.
Graeme manages to find Kiara, who appears to have been living on the streets for some time. Graeme finds Kiara just by chance, but he is surprised to find a new twist in the story: Kiara has a young boy with her that she obviously cares about and takes care of.
Be sure to read this story and find out how Graeme actually finds Kiara, and what her reaction is when she sees Graeme’s enormous estate. You will not want to miss this one!
